Colonial Williamsburg is the historic district of the independent city of Williamsburg, Virginia. Colonial Williamsburg consists of many of the buildings that formed the original colonial capital of Williamsburg in James City County from 1699 to 1780, with all traces of later buildings removed. Colonial Williamsburg was the center of Government, Education and Culture in the colony of Virginia. Williamsburg was also built around four main buildings which were the Raleigh Tavern, College of William and Mary, The Governor's Palace, and Bruton Parish Church.
We came here for two days in a row just to cover everything in the area. The first day covered the time period between 1772-1776 and then the next day was 1776-1781. It was neat to feel like you were actually living in that period of time because all the workers have to act in character the whole day and you really can't ask them any personal information because they won't give it to you.
Each day between 2:44-5:00 they had street scenes where they went from place to place acting out what had happened at that particular spot and heard personal stories of people then and what they went through.
This was a great learning experience for me because I did go to Williamsburg in 8th Grade for my school trip but I didn't realize at that time in my life how important these people were to us as Americans. So I can know see why my parents are so in love with anything that has to do with History because they appreciate it and learn and grow from it. I hope that one day I will be able to share this experience with my children so they can know why we live in America the land of the free.
On Tuesday night we went to a night show
