My parents flew standby for Delta into Richmond and they intended to arrive Saturday morning but didn't get a seat on the plane so they traveled all day on Saturday and finally arrived that night.
Sunday morning we went over to Ryan and Leah's house again to continue watching conference. My parents had a great time talking with Ryan and Leah about their summer in Europe and France. My parents are planning to go back sometime because my father served his mission their for our church and so they are anxious. Plus my mom is a school teacher at the high school I went to and during her prep period she goes to class herself and is in her second year of french class.
After Conference was over we drove over to Yorktown. Yorktown is most famous as the site of the surrender of General Cornwallis to General George Washington in 1781. Although the war would last for another year, this British defeat at Yorktown did effectively end the American Revolutionary War. Yorktown also figured prominently in the American Civil War (1861-1865), serving as a major port to supply both northern and southern towns, depending upon who held Yorktown at the time.
