In the Holy Bible, in the book of Matthew, there is a beautiful story, the Parable of the Ten Virgins. This is a story of ten women in Jerusalem, who loved the bridegroom and were waiting for him to come, much like we wait for Jesus Christ today. Half of them were prepared, and the other half...thought they were...or meant to be.
The ten virgins were members of Christ's church, they had the saving gospel. They had accepted an inviation to a wedding supper. Each knew to bring a lamp, arrived on time, and understood the importance of that day. They were good women.
Those who were not prepared had the gospel but hadn't made it the center of their lives...yet. When He came, they rushed around for their lamps but found them without oil. You see, time had passed and they had heard of his coming for so long, that the statement seemed meaningless to them. It is so hard to wait and be prepared always.
In the daytime, wise and unwise seem alike, but at midnight when the bridegroom came, there was no time for preparation.
This fictional story of the Parable of the Ten Virgins showed us the issues that complicate our lives today. Perhaps some might even find themselves intewoven into each of the virgins, wise and foolish alike.
In the end when it was all said and done it made me reflect on my relationship with Jesus Christ and how I need to accept his invitation to "watch and be ready" and to have enough oil in my lamp to be prepared.
So I was able to be apart of a play (which was my first) I have had no acting experience before and this play required alot of time and memorization and practices. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone and work on this and so we presented this play to a group of women in my area. I played the role of a foolish virgin named, Ashira, who has to be sure her house is always clean and makes sure everyone is taken care of. She is frantic to get things done and tends to forget her real purpose and then realizes that she is too late and is not prepared. I really can relate to this women and their is times when I feel like all I do is clean but I need to manage my time and home better so that it dosen't consume my life. It was a perfect role for me to play. I just wish you all could have seen me. I think I will be getting a video of it soon though.

Sarah, I was so proud of you. When it was all over I kept telling people, "That's MY sister-in-law." I love you and appreciate the women that you are!
