Christmas Tradition

I can just picture it now as a child when I would sit on the couch by the window and watch the snow falling and our house lights that would run along the window sill with the color being illuminated through the snow. I see my father outside plowing all the neighbors driveways and sidewalks. He loved to serve our neighbors and bring the christmas spirit to our neighborhood.

My all time classic favorite tradition with my Peterson family is sitting around our living room and listening together the wonderful collection of songs and stories of "The Forgotten Carols." I remember sitting in front of a bowl of the Andes mints and just eating and singing along. The wonderful story that is told made you feel as if you had been there when the Savior was born.

Another memory of course being raised in Utah was the opportunity to go to temple square and just walk around the grounds and enjoy the wonderful lights and scenery. I loved to watch all the little children's eyes just light up when they walked through the gates. We went about 2-3 times during the holiday season just because we could and it was convienent.

I miss growing up and having a "Utah" christmas but I know that I can pass my joy of christmas and tradition to my children because of my parents and the wondeful example they have set before me! Thank you Mom and Dad! I love you!
