Ever since Sarah blogged about having to walk Paetan to school, I felt more pressure to get her a car to replace her Expedition (the lease was up May 2nd and we hadn't found another car before turning it in).
Before I get into that, let's go over the back story of Sarah's 'next car'. She has been wanting to get a GL 450 for several months now, but I personally didn't care for them much until we test drove one at the Mercedes dealership in Escondido. They really are nice and don't drive at all like a big car/truck.
Sarah knew her lease was coming to an end and that I would have to get her a new car, but what she didn't know was that I would use this as leverage for my own plans. You see, I want to have a couple more children, but we hadn't really talked about it too much and so I thought I would use this 'want' for a GL 450 so that I could get what I want. So I gave Sarah 2 options:
1) Since we only have 3 kids, we don't really need anything more than a 5 seater, so I offered to buy her a 1991 Honda Civic Hatchback (2 door... a little more difficult with car seats, but still good enough): Kinda like this one, with the sweet multi-style wheels... 14 inch hubcaps in front, 16 inch 'custom' wheels in the back ($2,050... so I could probably pay cash for it... maybe).
OR
2. If Sarah decided we were going to 'need' more room, then we could justify getting her a GL 450. As you can see, the one below is what she chose:So, I guess in the next year or so... we'll post some other low resolution pictures (probably in black and white with weird shapes on it).
Here is one more from a different angle:I think Sarah made a wise choice... however, I still might get a Civic Hatchback for the weekends.
