I volunteered myself to join a group of girls from my ward to participate in the World famous, Camp Pendleton mud run this upcoming Saturday. Its a 10K so 6.2 miles and I haven't ran or trained for such a thing in a very long time. Hopefully my Jillian Michaels workouts have been sufficent enough for me to make it and actually finish it with my head held high.
Of course it will be more difficult because of the obstacle course as well as the MUD but wish me luck and I've heard great things about it. I just get a feeling that I am just going to be laughing most of the time and just enjoying myself. If I keep that in mind I'm sure the pain in my knee once I hit 3 miles won't hurt as bad.

UPDATED on June 5th day of the race
It began this morning with the Camp Pendleton mud run. I didn't train at all to run 6.2 miles and it was hard! I came into this last minute because a girl backed out of a team that some of the girls from the ward put together.
They figured I'd do well because I workout but I soon found out real quick with all the uphills that that was not the case. Man! That was grueling and hot and steep! Then came the mud and boy that was so much fun plowing through it. I felt so good to just get dirty!
The obstacles were fun as well jumping over 5 foot walls and I did them on my own by the way. The slithering into a tunnel and then crossing a river of water up to my chest and then to top it all off at the end with a army crawl through mud. We had to cross the finish line arm and arm as a team so 2 girls were waiting for the 3 of us to get to this point and then crossed and finished 1 hour 35 minutes.
I have to say that I went into this not knowing what I was getting myself into and not expecting what I actually did but overall I was very satisfied even though those hills did it for me it was well worth it.
