It all began with breakfast in bed and it was made by Trent then he woke up the children to bring it to me. The children ate half of it for me but it was ok I didn't mind. The morning was just relaxing and felt no rush to get ready until 10:00 for our 11:00 church!
Sacrament meeting was incredible we had 2 amazing youth speakers Sis. Reed and Bro. Angel which he walked up there with so much confidence and spoke without any notes. I was very impressed and he's 15 years old!
The musical number by Keenan Kanehele was incredible and he gave a poem beforehand and I was just in tears it was so touching. I'm going to have to get the words to both the poem and the song that he gave.
Then Sis. Johnson (Bishop's wife) spoke about Patty the Perfect mom and how us woman have a hard time with comparing ourselves. Our Power of Moms group last month talked about this exact thing and how we just need to take what we know we are best at and improve upon it and then slowly add a little here and there but don't get to the point of ripping our hair out!
Bro. Paul Packard closed the meeting and can I just say that this man has touched my life in so many ways and he doesn't even know it since I've been in this new ward. He actually in his talk spoke of just that of those women and mothers whom he has been touched by but they don't even know it.
We got to attend R.S. today as Primary workers and I was so excited to go be amoung great woman! I feel so blessed to be apart of this new ward and sisterhood. Sis. Sommer gave the lesson on Following the Prophet and I was so touched in the way she presented it to us. She spoke of her own family mottos and how Sommers Follow the Prophet and how its important to teach our children this simple but profound concept.
I remember back in TOV ward 2 years ago when Sis. Hofer gave a comment about her son complaining about moving pipe and working around the house and there was more to the story but I can't remember. But somehow he asked her a question that she knew the answer too but decided it may just come to him more powerfully if it was by someone else. So she told him, "Let's go see what the Prophet's have to say about this," That statement has stuck with me ever since and I just want to be able to use that statement with my children and to study the prophets lives and learn more about them.
Sis Sommer also had a book about the prophets as little boys and talked about the importance of their mothers teaching them correct principles and just life lessons. I was so grateful to participate in that lesson and to feel the spirit speak to me as a mother and what I can do to improve my role as a mother.

Mormon Helping Hands Project
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints members throughout the state of California participated in a statewide service project. Each stake (represents a certain area) comes up with a service project to do in their community for about 300 people to participate in.
The Carlsbad Stake went to the Oceanside Harbor to do a beach cleanup. We arrived at 8am and grabbed trash bags with gloves and put on our "yellow" Mormon helping hands vests and away we went. The girls were great and they participated for a hour and half without complaining. Then, as we were leaving the beach, they started to complain just a little, but overall I was impressed with their attitude about the whole project.
Beforehand, Trent and I prepped them about what we would be doing and so that helped. They get the bigger picture of why we serve and how it makes them feel. Throughout the day the girls were noticing trash around them and putting it into the trash cans. I just hope it still continues in our home because I find a lot of empty gogurt tubes and otter pop's lying around. : )

Yoga Meltdown
Jillian is back at it again but this time Yoga! Which I am such a beginner at this type of exercise. I've done a few workouts here and there in years past but I am in love with this one! She has 2 different levels and I just feel so amazing after just like I do when I finish her 30 day shred workouts.
Its amazing how much Yoga can do. I've thought it was the easy type of exercise but boy was I wrong. I have a new found love for this and will incorporate into my other exercise regimes. Let me know if any of you go out and try it out. Trust me you cannot go wrong with Jillian she knows her stuff and she will help you get that lean body and size you've always aspired to be.
Its amazing how much I've grown and learned about my own body and just in the past month I have seen amazing changes in my body because of just changing my mind set and just getting down and sweaty! Your mind is a very powerful tool and if used correctly it will be so beneficial for you in the long run! My weight has stayed the same but I have just lost inches all around in this last month. I am so much stronger than I have ever been in my life and I just feel so confident and able to just live happily day after day!
Just Do It! I will be here to support you!

Prayer
I learned a lesson about prayer this evening.
If you pray for patience then you will be given an opportunity for patience
If you pray for courage then you will be given an opportunity for courage
If you pray for more family unity then you will be given more opportunties for time together.
Its a simple thought but very powerful!
These are just a few of the things that I have been praying about lately

Easter with an Earthquake
Easter 2010 was great this year I actually did something with my children that they thought was fun. I found an Easter Story Treasure Hunt that we did in our neighborhood. We walked around to look for specific items that had to do with Christs resurrection. It was short but to the point and they enjoyed learning that way. I'm slowly getting into the tradition thing with my children so we will see what next year brings.
That afternoon we were able to invite our friends, Buddy and Sara Haws, over for the last session of conference and lunch. They just moved into our ward from Arizona so I invited them to come celebrate with us. It wasn't much but I did print off the children's conference packet for each of them to try to do. It didn't last very long and just ended up sending them upstairs so that at least us adults could enjoy listening.
After they left not 20 minutes I was on the phone with my SIL, Amy, when I felt myself moving and then I looked up at my light fixtures and they were swaying. Then I hear Amy say to her family, "Boy's its an earthquake! Get to your spots!" What you have spots??? This was running through my head as I just sat there thinking what do I do now. I went and grabbed Easton and just held him until the 20 seconds was over which seemed liked a minute! Now I know why people say this when they are experiencing an earthquake cause it felt like a long time.
It was a definate wake up call for me as a mother. I had no place for my children to go to. We had no plan as to where or what we would do in an earthquake. The next day was Monday so for family night what do you think we did?? We discussed our plan and replenished our 72 hour kits that hadn't been done for a year. I'm going to be better at doing this every general conference.
