Started the day by meeting at the dive shop where we began our journey to go snorkeling for the day. We drove over to a marina just outside of Farjardo and took the East Wind sail boat out with about 50 other people. We cruised on out into the Atlantic and headed towards a little island called Cayo Icacos. We docked and we could either go out onto the beach or just practiced snorkeling. I tried to do it by the beach but had no sucess. I also got a mouth full of salt water which wasn't very pleasant at all. So I just went and layed out on the roof of the boat and then they feed us lunch.
As we finished they took us out to the reef where we could go snorkeling. I kept telling myself that I wasn't going to go in at all but once everyone got off the boat and into the reef I wanted too. Besides I was getting a hard time from some of the sail boat workers who were natives and they encouraged me to just go in and at least swim around. So I decided to not be a chicken anymore and just get in. I knew this would be my only time in a while to get to do something like this and besides we payed good money to go on this adventure anyway. So I got ready and here came Trent he had already been out a while taking pictures and so I told him to go back out with me. We got into the water and I tried about 5 times to learn to breathe underwater and just couldn't get myself to do it. I didn't want to drink salt water. I ended up just swimming around and I didn't get to see anything underneath me. I was out for about 5 minutes.
We finished our adventure and sailed back into the marina and then took the shuttle back to the hotel. We got ready for the night and Stephanie and Gene made reservations at "The Grille" another one of the resorts resturants but this one was at the golf country club. We needed to kill some time before dinner so we drove into the outlet mall that we had been to previously and went to a couple of stores.
We made it back to the resturant for our reservation and we had a great time talking about life and about eachother. We really connected with Stephanie and Gene and I am glad that we got a chance to share our vacation time getting to know one another. It was kind of interesting that pretty much all of our meals and the service took a while. We concluded that Puerto Rican's are just at a slower pace then the rest of us.
When we got done we went back to the resort and just went out to the beach and talked underneath a cabana for a couple more hours and then headed off to bed.
