Our Stake Center was a command center for the Army National Guard. As a ward primary we made for them thank you cards and we got an opportunity to take them to the church and give the cards to them. The girls had a great time and we went up to a couple of them and talked with them and they told us about their families and how they missed them.
The Lueitenant in command there was Lt Handy and he was able to pull up a Hum-V for the children to look at and get into. They also told us about the weapons they have on their uniforms and the children just loved it you could see it in their eyes.
This experience was special to me as a mother to be able to teach my girls the importance of service and how we need to show our gratitude for those who serve our country and help our neighbors out in times of crisis.
