Classroom Volunteering

It was great to be able to get back into Reeghan's classroom today it had been about one month or so since I had been. I was really diligent all year long and went once a week for about 3 hours but this last month there seemed to be a lot going on.

I just love getting involved in what she is doing and watching her learn along with her classmates, whom I have come to adore and what's better, they love me! I love to see their faces when they see me walk into the room. I feel loved and appreciated by these 5 and 6 year old kids!

At the beginning of the school year I was helping Ms. Beardsley outside the classroom putting together homework packets and take home information. I would occasionally do reading with the children, because at the time the school was in a smaller space.

Since they have moved to their new location their room is huge and I have been able to walk around and watch the children do their work. I love watching them learn with the Montessori materials. I wish I had learned that way. Reeghan is already learning her multiplication table in first grade! I don't remember learning that until 3rd grade! I love to see each one of them learning at their pace and what they feel comfortable at doing.

Today just reconfirmed to me that I love where Reeghan is at and the way the school has blossomed during its first year! I am excited to see what next year will bring because Paetan will be attending Kindergarten there as well.

I am grateful that I can make the time to be in the classroom and to also be a stay at home mom! Its a hard job but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
