This afternoon I didn't have a plan set out for our children and Trent has been gone the last 3 days so I wanted to just get out of the house and experience something together. It was Carlsbad Day at Legoland today and I guess I was too late to get discounted tickets so we were unable to do that. My girls have been begging me to go but I realized after I started searching for tickets that I should hold off. I would like the girls to earn it. My Accountable Kids system needs to be consistent and I would like to be the mom to follow through.
Instead of doing Legoland I looked up the San Diego Family Magazine website because they have the daily activities around San Diego area and found the Cinco De Mayo Festival in Old Town. It was a perfect switch to make because I really wanted to go down to Old Town not for the festival but to see the newly dedicated Mormon Battalion Visitors Center.
Easton didn't last very long for the tour so I asked Gracie to take the girls for me. I figured that I had other opportunities to come back down especially with Trent and go see the site. Easton and I played outside in the water area and he just had a blast and I took tons of cute pictures of him. The girls came out so excited about what they had learned and even got to get all dressed up which is their favorite thing to do.
I'm so grateful that we have such wonderful places to visit and to feel the spirit even if its just for a short time. I love to talk with the missionaries who serve there and to just see the joy on their faces as they talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I didn't get to hear much but I could feel it which was just as important.
