We began the process of Potty Training Reeghan when she started having diaherria. I was fet up with cleaning up after her and decided that this is as good as any time to start her. I really didn't pick the best time of year to start her which was a week before christmas but you know it was nice to have Trent around as well to help out.
I read up on Dr. Phil's advice of starting and I actually bought the Emma doll that he suggessted. This doll has a bottle and potty that comes with her and once you give her water you can take her to the potty. So I began teaching Reeghan to teach the doll first and then keep asking her if she wanted to go herself. I kept telling her that she would get a reward for each time she went. I also told her that we would have a party so that Tyler (her favorite) could come over. We also called the "special" people once she went all by herself. We called grandparents, Tyler, and David!
It is quite the process that takes alot of patience but overall I think she did very well and understood alot faster than I thought she would. We would have occasional accidents but it was never consistent accidents. I told myself that once I began she went to strictly underwear only and I did it! No pull-ups or anything!
