Papa John's Suprise

The day began by Papa John and Grandma picking up Trent at the Long Beach airport because he went to Utah for work. Then I drove up about an hour later and met up with them at Grandma's house. We met up because Grandma and Papa John have been in the furniture business for quite some time and I wanted to get together with them to go look around for ideas for our new home. The piece of advice that I got was to have the furniture come to me instead of me going to find it. Well that came to pass I walked into Crate and Barrel which was a store I didn't want to go into but low and behold right in the entrance was my piece of furniture that I fell in love with! Its a rattan/seagrass type piece and when we went into 3 different other stores that type of stuff just stood out to me. So thats what I am going to go with!

So after our furniture expedition we left to go back home and we made previous arrangements for them to come down to Kelly's for dinner. Papa John had no idea it was his birthday party.

Each month the Chapman's have a birthday get together for those whose birthdays are in that particular month. Well out of all the many people we have on the Chapman side only one has a birthday in January and that was Papa John. It was my month to take the birthday celebration and plan it.

We had an Italian theme because he is half Italian and his favorite food is Lasanga. So we ate dinner and then afterwards I shared with them some interesting facts about Papa John's life and we all learned alot. He expressed his great love to all of us and how we have been great examples to him over the years which lead him to his Baptism in November. He is such a very kind and loving man! We had a great evening.

At the end of our get together Trent talked with the family about Goal Setting. As part of our monthly birthday get togethers the couple that is in charge needs to plan a motivational speech to share. So that was Trent's part and he did an amazing job and we had great conversation about our future plans and how we can improve.

Then they went and gave him his birthday hugs all 58 of them!
