I was reminded today while I sat in church why Christmas 2010 was so special to me.
A sweet sister mentioned the fact that while she was out shopping and running around she kept hearing people say, "Oh Christmas I just hate Christmas!" or "I can't wait until Christmas is over." She told us that these statements reminded her that yes some people especially in our economy are suffering and are spending money they don't have on Christmas but they were missing something more important, Christ.
As I listened to her I thought about our simple Christmas this year and how I didn't fuse about doing tradition after tradition and run us from this party to that. I kept it simple. Part of it may have been that I wasn't really energized to do all that type of stuff because I was sluggish but it felt nice.
I thought more about Christ this year and felt his love for me and my little family. I may look back at this year and question why I didn't do that or why I didn't keep up with that tradition but I need to realize what's most important.
