I have had my mother in my life for 29 years and I am sure that in the pre existence we were there together too. I love her with all my heart! I feel so blessed to call her mother and to call her whenever I need anything. That is what moms are for, right?
Shauna Peterson is:
--literally doesn't think of herself...always puts others first (anyone who knows her can vouch for the fact that I'm totally not exaggerating)
--loves the Savior and has instilled that love in each of her children though how she lives her life
--can travel around the world with one little carry-on bag (so low maintenance)
The last almost 9 years I have lived far from her and I remember our first year of marriage I went home almost every 2 months to see my family and more especially my mother. It's been hard to live so far from her but I know with that phone call I make to her that she will drop anything to talk to me even if she is taking tickets to a high school activity. I know she loves me and cares what I am doing with my children and wants the best for me.
I remember times when I was growing up when I got frustrated with life and just went to go cry in my room and my mother would come in and all she had to do was just "be there" saying nothing just watching me cry and rubbing my arm which was one of her favorite things to do. I can still feel her doing that to this day.
I love you mom! I pray often that I will be more like you. You are one to first sacrifice your time to help serve others and to show love to them while doing it. I admire your patience and your spirituality and your drive to visit all the temples in the world with dad!
I just hope that you and dad will go away and serve a mission soon because I know how much it means to the both of you to serve wherever you can. You two are truly AMAZING!
