Temple Experience

The night before Trent was able to make his flight to SLC I was so happy to see him. I took him to dinner and then we ate it at Memory Grove after that we hiked up Ensign peak and that is where I gave him his ring. We headed back to Tooele and hung out with the family.

This will be a day to remember I had the wonderful opportunity to go to the SLC temple for the first time to receive my endowment. What a neat and overwhelming experience to be their with my family and friends and to receive such a special gift from my father in heaven.

Those that came were: Parents, Jared & Liz, Scott & Erin, Grandparents, David & Tera, Aleece, Aunt Tamara & Vicki & LaRae, Jenn Hinton, Jenny Steele, Krizia and BJ and Jan Walker. Of course Trent was there and his friend, Daniel Marquardt. It was neat to see them all in the temple.

Right when I walked into the front I kind of got nervous but once I showed my recommend and walked toward the dressing room it all changed and I couldn't wait. I had all my new temple apparel and I was ready. The feeling of being clean is always good to feel. I just hope that I will remember my 1st event in the temple.

As I waited with my mother in the sitting room Erin came in and it was just so great to sit with my mom and my sister. The temple matron spoke to me about the experience I will be soon having and the importance to keep it sacred.

We then walked into the Creation room and I was one of the 1st ones in there. Then I saw Trent and I just couldn't keep my eyes off him and just kept a smile on my face. The session was packed full and just before we started I saw Krizia and her mom trying to get in last minute, luckily they let them in.

The Salt Lake Temple does a "live session" in which we move room to room and it takes awhile for others to get seated and situated. It makes it more real when its done live then the movie. Even though I didn't understand alot that was going on I knew that I did have faith that one day I will understand.

I made covenants with my father in heaven and to say them with my name just made it that more real. Towards the end y father & I ended up walking next to eachother and he grabbed my hand and told me that he was so proud of me! I don't know why that touched me so much but I knew that if he was proud I'm sure my father in heaven was even more excited for me.

The celestial room is A-mazing and to be surrounded with those that I love made it feel like a piece of heaven. I was amongst them! I made it! That is the feeling that came over me and I couldn't hold back my tears. I got to hug each person even Scott which I had never done before. We are all family!

They took us on a tour of the temple and talked about alot of the symbolism. I just remember holding Trent's hand and thinking of the time when we would be married for time and all eternity to each other in the temple.

After the temple we headed to Frontier Pies to eat lunch which was the place I met Trent for the first time.

I am grateful for temples and I wish I could have gone to all the temples in Utah but I only had a week left so I am going to pack up and get ready to move away to California. It hasn't hit me yet that I will be away from my family for a long time. I think that once I am gone I will be more grateful to have them in my life.

Our goal is to go to the temple once a week!
