A Day of Remembrance

A day to remember in American History! Terroists attacked our country in 3 areas and hijacked 4 planes and crashed them into the World Trade Center and knocked down the 2 towers. Then one hit in Pennsylvania into a field and the other hit the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

I left this morning at 6am to go see my future brother-in-law, Sean, at the airport because he was departing for his mission and I also had to give him some pants to take with him. It was great to suprise him he didn't even know I was coming to see him off. Thank goodness I went or he would have been sitting by himself for a long 3 hours. The attack happened around 6:45am and when we found out they cancelled all airline flights so nobody could leave.

During this whole event Sean and I talked about his MTC experience and the lessons he had learned. I felt the spirit so strong with him. He is just like Trent in that they are very knowledgable about the scriptures and they have a love for them that I wished I had. He gave me a list of books to read along with some scriptures. He made mention that Pres. Benson said if you read your scriptures everyday I promise the Celestial Kingdom. That statement hit me really hard and I realized that I am so caught up in the world that I can't even take a hour of my day to actually study and ponder the scriptures.

I was really glad I got to go the airport that day and witness this tragedy with him as well as other missionaries. It put things into perspective for me and to see how anxious these young men were to get out and share this wonderful news to others especially during this time when all have been affected.

As the day went on the whole talk of today was this tragedy. I cried about 3 different times today just watching footage of the horrible event that had just taken place that morning. Alot of people lost their lives and all because of someone's evil act.
