We headed off to Utah for our annual family get together at my grandparents "cabin" or in other words their double wide trailer! We have done this for years and each year we keep getting bigger as far as bodies are concerned.
But first of all before we went on our adventure drive up there my best friend Leah hosted a baby shower for me at her new beautiful home. I got to see 2 of my friends from HS I hadn't seen in years and then my other 2 college roomates came as well. It was fun to just hang out and chat and catch up. I appreciate all of my sisters as well who came. It was a fun and enjoyable night.
We spent the day on Thursday driving up and getting settled in and just relaxing and Friday and Saturday were the days we spent down at the lake. I love Bear Lake the water is so beautiful and it was just nice weather. It was bearable. However I did pay for it Saturday night with my swollen ankles! Too much heat I assume.
Sunday we went to church in a little town of Liberty, Idaho. Note this is a very small rural town with alot of farming. While we were waiting to attend Sacrament meeting I just happened to be standing by a few Young Men who began to discuss to eachother how their farming was going. One said, "So how is your alfafa growing?" and then another question was, "Are you planning on growing some organic crops?" I wanted to laugh so hard. I am just not used to hearing these types of questions especially from a bunch of young men. No Ipod's were mentioned or what sport they are currently playing. It was enjoyable to listen too.
So they started the meeting 5 minutes late and ended 15 minutes early. It was "Girl's Camp" Sacrament Meeting where the young women of the church get up and speak about their expereince at the camp they went to together. It was very short.
Monday we headed back down to Ogden and vistited with my grandparents. I feel so blessed to be able to still have both sets of grandparents still alive so whenever I get a chance to visit I go out of my way to make sure I see them. My grandpa happened to just celebrate his 86th birthday and all he wanted for his birthday was a birthday cake! What? I asked why and he continued to tell me that he had never had one before! My grandma never made him one. That blew me away and then I began to think about Trent and I have only made him one cake in the almost 7 years we have been married!
After visting we went to the airport and were on our way back home!
