Hawaii - Day Five

Today was the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center. We jumped into the car around 11am and drove up the island to Laie. It was a beautiful drive and very relaxing. We got their a little early so we decided to drive over to BYU-Hawaii. A few days before we went to Hawaii I had this dream that we would be driving around campus and that I would see our Bishop's daughter on her bicycle. Low and behold there Jessica was! It was so crazy so we stopped and chatted for a bit and then met up with the rest of the group at the PCC.

The first hour was very hot! I was not looking forward to a whole day in that weather but it only lasted that first hour and then the clouds came out and it was rather bearable. We went to each of the villages demonstrations except Fiji. Allie and I and the little girls participated with the Tahiti village and did a little dance up on stage it was quite entertaining for the whole group I am sure.

That night at our Luau dinner we had great food and very delicious and the host for the Luau came around and met everyone but I think she especially enjoyed seeing our family. She even remembered our girls names! So during the hosting session she would ask the questions if anyone had a birthday or anniversary so that they could play them a special song. So we sent Sydney up for the birthday song even though it really wasn't her birthday because she wanted to be on stage. Then Trent and I got up for the anniversary song because it was our anniversary 3 weeks ago so it still counted and so it was a good excuse to get up and dance with eachother on stage.

To conclude the evening we went to the night show where all the villages take part in displaying their dances altogther. I really enjoy this part of the PCC but Trent was over it so he took our sleeping children, Paetan and Easton, out to the car until it was done. Reeghan and I watched the rest together and when Tahti came on I was so excited. I felt like a little girl again and I just wanted to get up and dance right along with them. Deep down I truly want to learn this type of dancing. I will put it on my bucket list!
