Hawaii - Day Six

This was a day in which I can say that I had a melt down! Thank goodness that I was in good company of my sister Leslie and my sisters-in-law, Allie and Susan to comfort me! It was just that day where my girls where not listening to a word I said and Paetan was kicking and screaming and just uncontrollable. I felt powerless and couldn't come to a conclusion about what to do. That morning the girls watched alot of TV and I am sure where over stimulated to the point that anything I said just was right on the edge! As a mother during those moments I wish I had my guard up and was ready to take on the challenge but today I couldn't hold my ground and just concluded that we weren't going to the beach with the cousins. So we didn't! I need to keep to my word!

We had a great 2 hours together Reeghan did her schoolwork and Paetan drew pictures and colored and then we read books together and they were great the rest of the day! So was that all they needed was a little mom time? Of course! The last 6 days they have been in heaven playing all day long with cousins and being on vacation eating what they want and watching what they want. I spoiled them too much and so I had to pay for it today.

I was grateful to hear that my sisters-in-law have those days too and that we just have to look at the postivies in our children and focus more on those instead of the negatives. I knew that before but I just need to KNOW it and apply it now. Paetan is really making me work and I just need to rely on my Savior for help and pray for her. That goes with all our children as well so my challenge this week is to pray for each of them as individuals and write down in my gratitude journal 10 things about them eachday.

Back to day 6 of the trip after all that drama everyone came back from the beach. The boys were gone in the morning to Honolulu for their seminar so when they got back they went into the pool. Then we went out on a well deserved date night all 6 of us to Halewia Joe's. It was 1.5 hours to get their because of traffic but it was worth it because we ate great food other than the fact that Ryan got a virgin lava flow and ended up with 4 of them by the end of the night because the first few he had found pieces of plastic in it.
